Once a year, La Mesa Boulevard is closed and Antique dealers from far and wide set out their wares. Reminiscent of an old fashioned Midwest flea market, there's live music and entertainment. All of our restaurants, coffee houses and pubs in The Village prepare special fare! www.lmvma.com/lmv_antique_faire.html
This Summer Event from June through August draws more than 2,500 spectators. Classic cars line La Mesa Boulevard and compete in our weekly contest. Enjoy live music with DJ Jumpin' Jack Flash, shopping and dining every Thursday night until 9 pm in The Village. www.lmvma.com/lmv_car_show.html
The Village is transformed into a Victorian Wonderland, with booths selling unique gifts, crafts and specialty items. Perfect for holiday gift giving! See details about booth rental information below. And as with every year, don't miss the Strolling Minstrels, Carolers and Street Entertainers. Live Music is featured in a number of stage areas, while Horse Drawn Carriages and Bonfires fill the Boulevard. The kids will love Santa, the Carnival Rides and the Puppet Shows. Village Merchants feature Holiday Merchandise And Street Vendors create a European Market Atmosphere. All Specialty Shops, Boutiques and Restaurants open late during event. Thousands of unique gifts all season long! www.lmvma.com/lmv_christmas.html

The La Mesa Village Farmers' Market has become a tradition on Friday afternoons in the Allison Avenue parking lot east of Spring Street. Between 3 and 6 pm, rain or shine, shoppers can select from a large selection of items. Next Friday, stop by the La Mesa Farmers' Market and grab some certified farm grown products to spice up your weekend! The Farmers Market is closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving and the Friday during Oktoberfest. www.cityoflamesa.com/index.asp?NID=449

This annual parade has the route going along La Mesa Boulevard through the La Mesa Village (just east of Spring Street.) Families bring lawn chairs and enjoy watching the floats, clowns, bands, local officials and much more on this May event.

Folks from all over the region gather to eat their heart out at this fun annual event, which has quickly grown in popularity and size during the past four years. The La Mesa Chamber is proud to produce this event that spotlights many local restaurants and food providers and allows them to show off specialty dishes to the hungry public. It is always our pleasure to also highlight our sponsors who continually support this event and attend and enjoy the company of so many of our attendees.
During the summer, the City of La Mesa offers free movie nights. One was called Dive in Movies that was held at the municipal pool where you could swim or relax in the pool while Hook played on the Big Screen. Another show this summer was Shrek 3 which was held at La Mesita Park.

A tradition for the community of La Mesa is the annual Oktoberfest. This activity brings visitors and vendors from all over the region to La Mesa for a weekend that is dedicated to family, friends, great food and entertainment. This year the La Mesa Chamber was proud to partner with the La Mesa Village Merchants Association, who began this popular event over 35 years ago. This event has gone from a small street fair to a 3 day festival, with 400 vendors offering goods and services to over 200,000 attendees. Add great food, lots of children activities, entertainment and of course, good old German brats and cold beer and you have a family event that has something for everyone.
